Perfect Instant Pot Porridge Oats
Warm, creamy and endlessly comforting, these Perfect Instant Pot Porridge Oats are a quick and easy way to start your day right. Whether you like your oats smooth and creamy or thick and hearty, this recipe delivers perfectly cooked porridge every time – no stirring, no boiling over, and no standing over the hob.
Why Use the Instant Pot?
The Instant Pot takes all the effort out of making porridge. Just add your oats and liquid, press a button, and walk away. The result? Consistently creamy porridge with minimal mess and maximum flavour. It’s especially handy on busy mornings or when making a batch for the whole family.
The Perfect Ratio
For classic rolled oats, use a ratio of 1 cup oats to 2½–3 cups of liquid (water, milk, or a mix of both). Add a pinch of salt, set the pressure cooker for 3–4 minutes on high pressure, and allow a natural release for 10 minutes. Stir well and adjust consistency to your liking.
Customise Your Way
Whether you prefer it simple or loaded with toppings, porridge is one of the most adaptable breakfasts around. Add cinnamon, vanilla or a spoonful of nut butter while cooking. Then top with berries, honey, banana, seeds or jam for the perfect finishing touch. For a dairy-free version, use oat, almond or coconut milk.
Great for Batch Cooking
Make a big batch and keep it in the fridge for up to five days – simply reheat with a splash of milk or water for a speedy breakfast throughout the week. You can even portion it into jars for ready-to-go breakfasts.
A Comforting Classic, Made Easy
With the Instant Pot, porridge becomes a no-fuss, no-fail favourite that fits right into your morning routine. Creamy, cosy and endlessly customisable, these oats are guaranteed to warm you up – one bowl at a time.
