Sesame Teriyaki Tofu

Sesame Teriyaki Tofu

250g firm tofu, sliced into 1cm thick rectangles

Sesame seeds


3 tbsp of tamari

2 tbsp maple syrup

1 tsp of vinegar of choice/ mirin

1 tsp of garlic powder

1 tsp of ginger powder

1 tsp of fresh chilli, finely chopped


2 tbsp coconut sugar

1 tbsp cornflour


1. Combine the marinade ingredients in a bowl, then add the sliced tofu so it is well coated. Leave to marinade for a few minutes.

2. Bake at 200°C for 10 minutes.

3. While the tofu cooks, make the glaze by combining any leftover marinade with the sugar and cornflour in a saucepan, or using sauté on your Instant Pot. Saute on a medium heat whisking constantly until it starts to thicken and reduce. Be careful not to let it burn! Remove and set aside.

4. When the tofu has baked, drizzle the remaining glaze over the tofu and bake at 200°C for 5 minutes.

5. Take out and sprinkle with some sesame seeds and enjoy!
