Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 italian sausages
  • 2 onions (cut into strips)
  • 6 bell peppers (cut into strips)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1.4 L pale ale
  • French bread (to serve)

Instructions

  1. Turn on the Sauté function, Normal/Medium for 15 minutes and add the olive oil.
  2. Sear the Italian sausage until browned on all sides, working in batches as to not overcrowd the pot.
  3. Add the sliced peppers, onions, salt and beer to the pot. Stir until everything is coated.
  4. Place the lid on top and Slow Cook on High for 3 hours, or on Low for 6 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. After 3 hours, remove the lid and Sauté, Normal/Medium for an additional 30 minutes until the sauce is reduced. Season to taste.
  6. Serve sausage and peppers warm on mini-French rolls. Use the lingering sauce to dip the sandwiches freely. Enjoy!
