Sticky Spicy Tofu Barbeque Nuggets 

Sticky Spicy Tofu Barbeque Nuggets 

2-4 servings

250g firm tofu, cut into 1cm x 2cm cubes


1 tsp smoked paprika

⅓ tsp black pepper

⅓ tsp garlic powder

⅓ tsp chilli powder

1 tbsp tamari

1 tbsp nutritional yeast

3 tbsp vegan mayo

100g panko breadcrumbs

Finishing sauce

3 tbsp sweet chilli sauce or chilli sauce of choice

1/2 tbsp tamari/ soy sauce

½ tbsp maple syrup


1. Combine the coating ingredients in a bowl, then add the diced tofu coating each piece evenly.

2. Bake at 200°C for 12 minutes. Make sure the tofu is well spread out so it can get crispy.

3. Meanwhile, mix together the finishing sauce ingredients. Mix together the ingredients for the final marinade.

4. When the tofu is cooked and crispy, remove from the air fryer and toss in the finishing sauce until well coated.

5. Bake again at 200°C for 12 minutes, turning when prompted so they crisp up all over.
