Air Fryer Sweet Potato Chickpea Cakes


  • 2 small – medium sweet potato 1 cup
  • 1 tin Chickpeas 240g drained
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
  • 4 tbsp Chickpea Flour
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 2-3 tbsp Nutritional Yeast


  1. In a mixing bowl, add sweet potato, onion, garlic, coriander leaves, spices, nutritional yeast and chickpea flour. Mix well to combine.
  2. Once combined, place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Scoop the mixture and gently shape to form a patty, then brush with oil.
  4. Select Air Fry and program to 205°C for 15 minutes. Touch Start.
  5. When the display indicates Add Food, place the patties in the Air Fryer, 1 cm apart.
  6. Flip them when prompted.
  7. When the program has finished, transfer to a plate and serve with a dipping sauce.
